Purdue students charged with hacking prof accounts, changing grades

Three former or current Purdue University engineering students face accusations that they logged into their professors’ computer accounts to change their grades — in some instances, going from an A to an A+, and in other instances, going from an F to an A, court documents allege.

The defendants, 24-year-old Sujay Sharma of West Lafayette, 24-year-old Mitsutoshi Shirasaki of West Lafayette and 24-year-old Roy C. Sun of Andover, Mass., were charged Thursday in Tippecanoe Superior Court 2 with multiple offenses, among them conspiracy to commit computer tampering, conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit computer trespass.
