Project Aims To Tie Together Student Support Services

Ten community colleges will join a national project to bundle student support services to help students succeed in their academics.

The Association of American Colleges and Universities on Monday announced a new cohort of two-year colleges that will participate in its Developing a Community College Student Roadmap Project, which is funded by the MetLife Foundation.

The project—part of the association’s Liberal Education and America’s Promise initiative—assists colleges in creating programs of academic support to help students become active partners in their own educational success. The project seeks to “connect the dots” among various student support programs on community college campuses and to create roadmaps for success applicable at multiple institutions. The base of these roadmaps will be a set of expected learning outcomes essential to succeed in life beyond college.
