LSU Faculty Senate president Kevin Cope is challenging the consolidation of LSU's top leadership positions and the reorganization of the university's system. Cope has filed a formal complaint with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
Cope said he wants the association to probe LSU's plans to consolidate and reorganize because of the university's handling of the whole process.
LSU officials have sent emails and hosted town hall meetings informing students, faculty and staff, about the university's plans of reorganization.
Cope said the university has failed to allow review of the massive change by the association, which violates association policies and would risk the total accreditation of the university.
