Sound like a high-end resort?

Not so. It’s the latest off-campus housing project near San Diego State University.

An increasing number of private developers nationwide are trying to reinvent living quarters for college students by slathering on the luxe details—and offering privacy, usually an elusive feature at dorms. Such amenities are often viewed by developers as ways to not only attract students to campuses but also retain them for longer periods of time.
