Police are looking for the person who sent a threatening email to the College of the Albemarle early Monday, causing school officials to close the campus down.
Earlier Monday, police sought a male student who lived in Elizabeth City, but after interviews, that suspect was cleared, police Chief Charles Crudup said. Police now seek another person who is not a student, he said. He would not confirm whether the person was male or female.
All COA campuses will be open Tuesday, school president Kandi W. Deitemeyer said. Police plan to remain on campus for the next three or four days, Crudup said.
"It is safe," Deitemeyer said at about 6 p.m. in front of the campus.
