Pennsylvania colleges face enrollment crisis

State college admission counselors had been setting up tables every week in Lehigh Carbon Community College's cafeteria, trying to talk to prospective recruits amid a sea of students eating lunch.

It wasn't an ideal situation.

So LCCC decided it would open a new office in December where recruiters can meet individually with students to review transcripts and talk about financial aid. It'll be a more professional setting than a noisy cafeteria, said Virginia Mihalik, LCCC's transfer coordinator.
