Panel To Advise U of Texas On Business Practices

A 13-member committee of business executives will recommend ways to reduce costs and otherwise improve business practices at the University of Texas, school officials announced today.

The panel, established by UT President Bill Powers, will build on efforts in the past three years or so by the university to cut spending through consolidation of offices and streamlined purchasing practices.

“The state budget is tight — but these are steps we should take even in the best of times,” Powers said in a statement.
