Northwestern State University and Northwest Louisiana Technical College signed an articulation agreement Monday that will facilitate students’ ability to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Students who earn Certification for Manufacturing (C4 Manufacturing), an industry-based certification recognized by the secondary system as well as business and industry, will receive six hours of credit to apply to a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering technology at NSU.
C4 Manufacturing is a certification course offered through the C4 Workforce Certification program developed by Louisiana Economic Development and is offered at Northwest LTC.
“This gives individuals more options,” said Linda Kelly, program manager for workforce initiatives at LED. “They have the option to leave high school and go for an associate degree and then pursue a bachelor’s degree. Employers have more of a workforce pipeline to meet the needs of the industry.”
