Gunshots rang out at North Lake College in Irving as part of a simulated school shooting Friday.
Unfortunately, the student body had no warning that it was just a drill.
Students, interrupted from their tests, dove beneath desks, bracing for the shooter’s entrance. Professors and staff huddled in corners also trying to conceal themselves before whoever was shooting could pick them off.
“I pulled a chair over me and was grabbing bags and building a fort over it,” nursing student Erin Culton told WFAA-TV (Channel 8). “One student checked and said there was a shooter in the hall. … There was a woman around me crying.”
