New university center to focus on anti-counterfeiting technology

Six university proposals have received more than $1 million in state research grants, including one to create the Center for Printing and Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.

South Dakota School of Mines & Technology will be the lead institution for the center, which will include collaboration with researchers at South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota. The researchers will work on new projects to address the most pervasive and destructive security and counterfeiting problems. The center will receive $300,000 in startup funding from the state.
