New partnership helps Florida students complete college

AcademyOne has been chosen by the Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC) to design and develop a new Florida Statewide Distance Learning and Degree Program Catalog. The catalog will provide greater access to the online and blended courses offered by all public postsecondary institutions across the state of Florida. Matriculated students will be able to search the catalog and register for courses that fill gaps in their degree plans and, accordingly, shorten their time to completion.

The new Distance Learning and Degree Program Catalog will be more flexible, scalable and sustainable than FLVC’s current solution, and it will be featured on their new student-facing web portal next year. Students, faculty and staff will benefit from an improved user experience with intuitive navigation to the distance learning resources and information they seek from Florida’s public colleges and universities.

The State of Florida has long been recognized as a leader for using technology to engage and assist its students,” says Mike McIntyre, AcademyOne Senior Vice President. “FLVC underscores this distinction as they migrate to a new technology platform, and we are very pleased to have been selected to develop their statewide, state-of-the-art distance learning solution. The project not only aligns with our mission to support nontraditional learners, but it also highlights our team’s ability to craft and customize software to meet a client’s specific need.”
