Less than 10 years after it opened, Nevada State College has received accreditation for its baccalaureate programs.
The school, which opened in 2002, had been operating under the accreditation of UNR, its sister school.
The accreditation comes from a nationally recognized organization and serves as an affirmation of the quality of the education being offered at the school, said Spencer Stewart, associate vice president for college relations.
“The consequences of accreditation is you have an outside agency providing its stamp of approval on what the institution has done and is continuing to do in many areas,” Stewart said.
