Add the NCAA to the list of institutions investigating the University of Montana. Montana's News Station has confirmed that the NCAA is now looking "unspecified aspects" of the Grizzly football program.
This is the third outside investigation launched to review the university in 2012. The Department of Justice and the United States Education Department have already announced their investigations into how UM has handled alleged sexual assaults.
At the request of the University of Montana, the NCAA agreed to make the public aware of the investigation on Wednesday, according to Montana Board of Regents Associate Commissioner for Communications Kevin McRae said specifics about what the NCAA is looking into are not known.
"The NCAA did not specify any particular, specific areas of the football program that they intend to investigate, but they just informed the university that they assumed the university will cooperate in any investigation, which the university will," McRae said.
