MTSU Warning Students After Apparent Meningitis Death

Middle Tennessee State University officials are warning students who came into close contact with Jacob Nunley, 18, a freshman from Dyersburg, Tenn., to get checked for meningitis.

Doctors think the highly contagious disease killed Nunley this morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the state health department is investigating.

Nunley lived in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house on MTSU's campus, a university media release said. Those in contact with him from Sept. 2-10 would be in danger.
