Milwaukee School of Engineering To Offer Tuition-Free Master's Degrees

In these lean times, the Milwaukee School of Engineering is offering a deal: Buy one degree, get a second degree free.

Starting next fall, students who graduate with an MSOE bachelor's degree can earn a tuition-free master's degree if they continue full-time and maintain good grades. They must start the master's within a year of earning their bachelor's at MSOE. Several other rules apply, and two medical-related master's programs are excluded from the deal.

The private engineering school in downtown Milwaukee hopes its new master's tuition grants, valued at roughly $32,000, will attract more students nationwide to its undergraduate programs, said Tim Valley, vice president of en rollment management.

Most of MSOE's 2,500 students are from the Midwest; 200 are enrolled in master's programs.
