Michigan State's Spartan Stadium construction begins

It'll cause some inconvenience, but Michigan State officials know the Green and White faithful are happy to deal with construction at Spartan Stadium this season, given what's in store.

The university about two weeks ago broke ground on a $24.5 million, two-level expansion at its football venue's north side. Work will continue throughout this football season, with the project slated for completion in July 2014.

Michigan State deputy athletic director Greg Ianni said a little hassle now will pay off later, exponentially.
