Several hundred Michigan State University students marched silently near campus Thursday to advocate an end to racism.

The event, organized by MSU’s Black Student Alliance, centered on a walk from the Brody Complex, near Harrison Road and Michigan Avenue, to Akers Hall, near Shaw Lane and Hagadorn Road.

Students of multiple races and ethnicities carried signs that read “Love knows no colors” and “Zero tolerance for racism.”

Before the march, organizers instructed participants not to speak to reporters and referred interview requests to the alliance’s president, who was not available for comment.
