Michael A. Gilbert, vice president for student life at the University of Delaware since 2007, has been named vice president for student affairs at the University of Connecticut. He will assume his new post Aug. 19.

"Michael has been a valuable part of our leadership team here at Delaware," said Interim Provost Nancy Brickhouse. "Working with his dedicated colleagues, he has helped enrich the University environment for thousands of our students and provided them an environment where they can succeed professionally and personally. I know everyone at UD joins me in wishing Michael well in this new endeavor."

A national search will be conducted to find Gilbert's successor, and an interim replacement will be announced soon.

In announcing Gilbert's new appointment, UConn Provost Mun Choi said, “Dr. Gilbert is a visionary, articulate, and charismatic leader who will build a continued record of excellence for the Division of Student Affairs.”
