Longwood University President Resigns For Health Reasons

Longwood University President Patrick Finnegan plans to step down because of health problems.

Finnegan has been on leave for several weeks because of health reasons. The university said today that he submitted his resignation to the Board of Visitors, effective June 30.

Ken Perkins, interim vice president for academic affairs, will continue to serve as acting president. The board will meet soon to appoint an interim president.
