Could Indiana’s eighth state college happen in Fort Wayne?

Lawmakers want to discuss the possibility of Purdue and Indiana universities letting go of their joint Fort Wayne campus so it can become a standalone college.

State Sen. Dennis Kruse says the time is right to discuss the option and other critical issues at what has become the state’s fifth biggest campus.

How the oversight of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne is handled will be taken up by the Indiana General Assembly’s summer select commission on education, made up of the education committee members from the House and Senate, next month.
