Lansing Community College's inaugural Early College class starts its school year with this week’s welcome activities.
The Early College provides mid-high school students the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit as part of their high school learning experience. Students will learn within a small learning community while attending classes all day on LCC’s campus.
The Early College program is for high school juniors who want to earn direct college credit up to an associate’s degree or a technical certification in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) related field.
The Michigan Department of Education granted funds earlier this year in an effort to expand the number of early college programs in the state from eight to 20 this fall.
