Lakeland College introduced Michael A. Grandillo, vice president for development and public affairs at Tiffin University in Ohio, as its next president Tuesday.
Grandillo, 54, will succeed Stephen Gould, who was named Lakeland's president in 1998 and will retire at the end of May after serving the college for 42 years as a teacher and administrator, according to a news release.
Grandillo is the 15th president of Lakeland, a private liberal arts school in Sheboygan County with 4,000 students that is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.
Grandillo started his professional career in admissions at Ohio Northern University, his undergraduate alma mater. He served 14 years at Heidelberg College in leadership roles in admissions and development, and has spent the last 17 years at Tiffin University, where he was vice president for development and public affairs and an adjunct instructor of political science.
