Lafayette College received approval Monday to build a three-story building on it Easton campus to house its anthropology and sociology departments.

Construction on the 19,600-square-foot Oechsle Center for Global Education will likely begin this summer or fall, said Mary Wilford-Hunt, the college's facilities director.

The construction will take 16 to 18 months, and Wilford-Hunt hopes it will be open in time for the 2014-15 school year.
