The president of La Salle University says he’ll step down in a little more than a year.
Brother Michael McGinniss will step down May 31, 2014. He will have headed La Salle for 15 years at that point, and spent the five years prior as president of Christian Brothers University in Memphis.
“This is a demanding job and I think I still have a lot of energy, but I also realize that twenty years is twenty years,” he tells KYW Newsradio,“and it’s a long time for an institution to have the same president. It’s a good time for a change. And the institution is in good shape.”
McGinniss, 65, says he intends to take a sabbatical after stepping down, but then he’s open to suggestions, either from his order or even La Salle, where he is also a tenured professor.
