Kutztown University foot the bill for a dinner for 11 people at a university foundation retreat that cost an average $84-a-person, as well as a $76 bar bill.
That was among the more than $3,700 in travel and related expenses that the university incurred that failed to adhere to the school’s policies, according to a performance audit issued on Tuesday by state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale.
"No question that needs to be cleaned up," DePasquale said. "That's why we pointed it out in our audit."
For some context, $3,700 is more than half of this year’s $6,622 yearly tuition bill at Kutztown for an in-state undergraduate student.
