Kilgore College Board President Charlie Hale resigned Monday during a board meeting, citing “some very recent issues.”
College President Bill Holda said Hale had been facing health issues and praised the six-year board member for his service. Hale’s term would have ended in May 2017.
“Charlie has had some health issues, and those have really affected what he perceives as his ability to serve the college board,” Holda said. “For the last year he has withstood a lot of barrage, so I admire him for staying the course. He just believed that with what his situation is he couldn’t give the level of service that the college board needs.”
