Ivy Tech Community College has given its interim chancellor of the college's Central Indiana region a more permanent status.
Kathleen Lee replaces Kaye Walter, who left the position earlier this year. Serving more than Ivy Tech 30,000 students, the region is IvyTech's largest, according to a release announcing Lee's selection.
"Dr. Lee is the right person to lead our Central Indiana team," said Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder. "She has been instrumental in the growth of the college, not only in enrollment and graduates, but with the expansion of the campus landscape in downtown Indianapolis, Lawrence and the surrounding communities. She brings a wealth of experience serving in a variety of different roles at the College. We are excited to have her in this very important leadership position."
Lee has worked for Ivy Tech 27 years, starting at the Indianapolis campus in 1985 s the college's director of clinical education for the respiratory care program. Eventually, she served as dean of the School of Health Sciences and Public Services and in 2005 became vice chancellor of academic affairs.
