Aquinas College President Juan Olivarez welcomed students back to campus Thursday morning, marking the start of his second year overseeing the Catholic, liberal arts college.
Already, he says it’s shaping up to be a big year for the college, with its incoming class – which includes freshmen and transfers – pegged at approximately 600 students, a 13.6 percent increase from last year.
“It just adds to the vitality of the school,” Olivarez, himself an Aquinas graduate, said. “To see us grow right now is good. It certainly helps with the revenue, which helps us then provide the resources for students.”
