University of Nebraska leaders will consider returning to the days when the university and its supporters paid for a house for the NU president to use.
The Board of Regents will consider on Friday allowing the NU Foundation to buy a house for President J.B. Milliken.
“A large percentage of the universities around the country do that,” Regent Tim Clare of Lincoln said.
At least eight Big Ten presidents and eight Big 12 presidents currently are provided with houses by their supervisory boards. NU wasn’t able to acquire housing allowance information for two Big Ten and two Big 12 presidents. Five of the eight regents-approved university peer institutions also provide homes for their presidents.
