GRCC Medical School Partnership Aims To Change How Students Think About Community College

Grand Rapids Community College might not be the first place students looking to become a doctor choose to start their college career. But GRCC administrators hope an agreement signed Monday with Grand Valley State University and Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine might change their minds. Under the agreement, MSU expanded from five to six spots a program that provides students at GVSU early admission to the College of Human Medicine. One spot in the program, known as the Early Assurance Program, is now reserved for a GVSU student that started his or her college career at GRCC.
