Glassdoor, the leading global jobs and career community, today announced the University of Central Florida College of Business Administration will integrate Glassdoor into its Career Professionalism curriculum, a new series of classes, starting Fall 2014, designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge to job search efficiently and get hired after graduation. This partnership signifies the first time Glassdoor will be incorporated into higher education curriculum, underscoring the value of empowering tomorrow's workforce early on with information to make more informed career decisions. Given that six in ten employees (61 percent) report job realities differ from expectations set during the interview process, according to a Glassdoor survey, this partnership will help narrow the gap in the future, and better match potential talent with the right employers.

Undergraduate students in the UCF College of Business Administration, the third-largest undergraduate business school in the country, are required to take four, one-credit classes in the Career Professionalism class series. As part of one of the classes, Career Research and Planning, students must research and identify their target careers, companies, and entry-level jobs. As part of the class curriculum, students will be required to view and learn from a custom Glassdoor tutorial video, explaining and showing college students how they can easily leverage the site for free to search and find the latest jobs, and research companies, salaries, interviews, benefits and more, entirely based on reviews and ratings shared by current and former employees.

"As a company, we are committed to helping college students learn about workplace transparency and providing them with the information to find the right jobs and companies," said Jim Buttimer, Glassdoor vice president of business development. "We're excited to partner with the University of Central Florida, and we encourage all universities to follow their lead in preparing students for the job market with this proactive and innovative approach."

"We are working to build an experience for students that gives them a distinct advantage in the marketplace and this partnership is another asset in delivering on that experience," said UCF College of Business Administration dean, Paul Jarley. "Our Office of Professional Development and the corresponding class are truly innovative opportunities to provide our students with access to information, resources and people that will make a difference in their education; and it sets the UCF College of Business apart in the landscape of business education."
