Gifts Bring Gusher Of Opportunities To UND (Opinion)

When one of the richest men and savviest executives in America wants to make a pathbreaking donation to North Dakota, which recipient does he choose?

He chooses the North Dakota University System. Congratulations to UND for earning the gift that’ll create the Harold Hamm School of Geology and Geological Engineering, and heartfelt thanks to Hamm and Continental Resources for their generosity.

The gift is the largest ever from someone who’s not a graduate of the university, UND President Robert Kelley said.

It’s also a tremendous vote of confidence in the university, the university system and the state. And the fact that Hamm isn’t a UND grad makes his vote all the more significant.
