This isn't historical fiction, it's a dramatized version of what researchers at the University of Houston predict the future will bring to higher education.

A diversifying student body–bolstered by a growing array of educational options, from massive open online courses to for-profit institutions to individual certificates–will take power long held by universities and colleges.
