Frostburg State University says campus police will patrol nearby city streets after two students were slain off-campus in the last two years.
University and city officials said Thursday that the school also will give the city of Frostburg $200,000 a year to increase the size and salaries of the city police force.
The agreement was first reported Wednesday by the Cumberland Times-News.
Officials say the deal will dramatically increase the law-enforcement response capacity.
