Frederick Community College president received $90,000 to leave

Frederick Community College’s former president received $90,000 in salary in exchange for his January departure after only about six months in the school’s top post.

College attorneys Wednesday morning released a partially-redacted version of its agreement with Talley that called for him to receive six months of his $180,000-per-year salary, as well as money for any unused vacation, in exchange for making no comment about the terms of his departure or disparaging the school after he left.

The school has maintained virtual silence on Talley’s exit since his departure after a special closed meeting of the FCC board of trustees on Jan. 3, other than a terse February announcement that “philosophical differences” with the board had led to the decision.
