Former Menlo College CFO accuses school of racism, retaliation

A former Menlo College chief financial officer has sued the college, contending he lost his job there because of race discrimination, retaliation and unfair business practices.

Nilo Ventura went to work for the college in May 2010 and left sometime after January 2013, according to the suit. He was recruited away from California State University East Bay by James Kelly, then Menlo College's provost and now its president, according to the suit filed Monday in San Mateo County Superior Court.
