A former vice chancellor at Indiana University Purdue Univeristy Indianapolis will become the new president of Lincoln University in Jefferson City.
Lincoln University curators announced Friday that Kevin D. Rome will be the school's 19th president, beginning June 1. The predominantly African-American school has more than 3,000 students.
From 2001 to 2004, Rome was assistant vice chancellor for student life and diversity at IUPUI, according to an online resume.
Rome was chosen after a nine-month search. He'll succeed Carolyn Mahoney, who retired in August.
