Fla. university system head named Pa. chancellor

The head of Florida's state university system was chosen Wednesday to become the new chancellor of the system overseeing Pennsylvania's 14 state universities.

Former Florida Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan will start Oct. 1 in the $327,500-a-year job, overseeing the 115,000-student Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

Pennsylvania's system is about a third of the size of Florida's 335,000-student public university system.
