The founder of AIT Laboratories preferred to keep his donations of $48 million anonymous, as he had with many other health-care and education causes he had supported.
But time and time again in the 18 months since Evans pledged his first gift, Marian President Daniel J. Elsener asked the Indianapolis entrepreneur to reconsider.
Finally, Evans agreed to break the veil of anonymity and affix his name to the building that will house Marian's new college of osteopathic medicine and the school of nursing.
