All seven members of a University of Iowa College of Education faculty advisory committee resigned Friday from the leadership position, according to an email obtained by The Des Moines Register.
The move comes four days after two high-ranking U of I officials ordered the destruction of records pertaining to faculty dissatisfaction with the dean of the College of Education, according to staff and faculty there. The Register reported the allegations Friday.
U of I Provost Barry Butler, one of the people who allegedly ordered the documents destroyed, said he didn’t destroy personnel records.
He acknowledged, however, that he collected copies of the documents and asked for confirmation that any other copies had been deleted.
