ED MAP, a leading provider of course materials management services, and AcademicPub, the leading provider of custom books - digital and print - for the higher education community, today announced a partnership that will mutually enhance each company’s ability to provide a streamlined way for faculty and institutions to adopt, manage, and deliver high-quality custom content to students and simultaneously reduce the cost of course materials.

The partnership will further strengthen ED MAP’s content strategies advisory services and will incorporate a version of AcademicPub’s robust content aggregation platform into ED MAP’s comprehensive OpenVue materials management technology.

According to ED MAP President and COO Kerry S. Pigman, “Working with AcademicPub will enable us to give institutions and faculty access to different kinds of content, while maintaining the streamlined approach to distribution provided by ED MAP’s OpenVue platform. Faculty and curriculum developers will be able to easily disaggregate content and reconstruct it with better, less expensive content – while maintaining the effectiveness of supporting courses’ learning objectives. We hope that implementing this strategy to increase the value of course materials will provide our clients with a competitive advantage in their marketplace.”

“With aligned goals of increasing flexibility while delivering quality at a lower price, AcademicPub and ED MAP are perfect partners, “ said Caroline Vanderlip, CEO of AcademicPub parent, SharedBook Inc. “ED MAP’s consultative approach, combined with AcademicPub’s state-of-the-art technology and content breadth, provide a great solution for ED MAP’s customers”.
