Delgado Community College is one of the country's fastest-growing two-year colleges of its size, according to a survey in Community College Week. Among community colleges with at least 10,000 students, Delgado ranked eighth in growth, with a 13 percent jump between fall 2009 and fall 2010. The enrollment rose from 16,618 to 18,767.
A year after the period that the survey covered, Delgado's enrollment rose by 9 percent, to 20,452.
The report was based on an analysis of data from the U.S. Education Department. Delgado was the only Louisiana school to crack the Top 50.
