Dean Of U of Utah's Largest College Leaving For Tennessee

The dean of the University of Utah’s largest college will depart for the University of Memphis, officials announced Wednesday. M. David Rudd, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Science, is a psychologist and a nationally recognized suicide researcher. He co-founded the National Center for Veterans Studies in 2010 and has testified before the U.S. Congress. Rudd joined the U. as dean in 2009 from Texas Tech University, according to a U. news release. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. At the U., he helped increase funded research to $4.6 million at the college, which includes psychology, political science, anthropology, and other departments.
