The University of Colorado raised $228.6 million in donations in the past fiscal year, an all-time high, the school announced Thursday.

Donations are up 7 percent over the previous year, when the school and its fundraising arm brought in $213.6 million.

CU and its foundation have now raised roughly 80 percent of the $1.5 billion goal set for the "Creating Futures" campaign, which was publicly announced in April 2011 but officially began in a silent phase in 2006.
