As the University of Colorado better clarifies its rules for hosting campus events that serve liquor, the school is also looking to hire a "campus alcohol agent."
CU hosts dozens of events every year on the campus -- ranging from wine-and-cheese parties to welcome new faculty members to receptions for alumni, said CU spokesman Bronson Hilliard. But the university has heard complaints from event planners that the rules and permit process can be confusing and overly bureaucratic.
CU looked at policies at other colleges and universities and ultimately decided to hire the campus alcohol agent, which was a "homegrown idea," Hilliard said.
The position will pay between $40,000 and $56,000.
