Tuition and fee increases at four state universities and 12 community colleges will go up more than 3 percent next year, the Board of Regents decided Thursday.
Average tuition and fees at the state's four universities will jump 3.8 percent for commuter students, with tuition increasing $315 to an average of $8,556. For in-state residential students at the state universities, the increase is 3.7 percent, pushing tuition and fees up by $676.
Tuition and fees at the state's 12 community colleges will go up 3.1 percent, raising tuition by $108, to $3,598.
All the increases were approved by the Board of Regents on Thursday.
