Community colleges help prepare students for a greener job market

Chicago poet Lisa Donahue is training for a new career as a solar equipment installer.

The 27-year-old is the new president of the Santa Fe Community College solar club and is working on her associate degree in environmental technology.

“I wanted to do hands-on work,” she said of her return to college. “I thought it would be cool if I could get up on roofs and install solar panels.”
