David Levinson, president of Norwalk Community College, is likely to be named the interim vice president for community colleges for the state's Board of Regents for Higher Education.
Robert A. Kennedy, the interim president for the board, said Monday that he is recommending Levinson for the job. The Board of Regents will consider that recommendation at its Dec. 20 meeting.
In a statement, Kennedy said Levinson will bring "tremendous experience, know-how, enthusiasm and dedication to the reorganization efforts… He is particularly well-suited to continue his outstanding work at Norwalk Community College, while collaborating to advance our reorganization efforts."
The higher education reorganization plan calls for designating two people as vice presidents in the Board of Regents office: one with responsibilities related to the community colleges, the other for state universities.
