Colorado colleges pick up the pieces after flooding

Paige Genelin was enjoying a typical Wednesday night with her roommates last week when she discovered that her bedroom was partially underwater.

A senior at the University of Colorado—Boulder, Genelin went downstairs around 10 p.m. to find an inch of water surrounding the basement of her off-campus house.

"We thought the storms would go away after the first night, but they didn't," says Genelin, who will be sleeping on the couch for the next few weeks.

Genelin is one of hundreds of Colorado students affected by the historic flooding that ravaged parts of the state last week.
