College of the Ozarks limits cell phone use

You probably pick yours up several times during the workday to make a call, check a text or surf the web. But at the campus that bills itself as "Hard Work U", using cell phones on the job or at other designated times is now forbidden.

Students at College of the Ozarks enjoy socializing as much as any other college students. "You just walk in, find an empty table with some friends and just talk to them there," says student Makena Fisher, during lunchtime Tuesday at College of the Ozarks.

But the minutes C of O students spend on their cell phones may be dropping because a new campus wide policy. "It's something the administration had been talking about over the summer, because we saw people using the cell phones, while they were on college work time," says Elizabeth Hughes, Public Relations Director at College of the Ozarks.
